Disable MPR not Working
hello everyone,
i need to create an mpr that disables users in a specific set only.
i created a sync rule that sets the useraccountcontrol to 514
created an action workflow linked to this Sync rule
and created an MPR that launches this workflow for the user set that i called inactive users
however the mpr is not triggerring !
anyone with an idea about the reason ?
thanks Hitch Bardawil

make sure that your workflow "run on policy update" is checked when you want it to be triggered for an existing objects in the environment, then you can uncheck it back after it run ...

Yes - that checkbox needs to be on for a set transition workflow to fire, but not for a request based MPR. If there is a need to run the workflow retrospectively, then you may want to consider setting up a second MPR to fire the same workflow,
then disable it once you're done. You can then turn off the "run on policy update" and switch over to the request based MPR only.Bob Bradley, www.unifysolutions.net (FIMBob?)

yup to do batch operation for the the whole objects already in the SET you need the checkbox to be checked, you must understand that "update on policy update" workflows will run when ever you modify anything in the corresponding policy (create/enable/modify).

actually i want to run the mpr for new users in the set
user are first members of a set called "active and enabled"
then HR changes the source attribute to inactive
so the users are now members of an "inactive and disabled" (disabled is set by a tranformation rule)
and now i want to export the change so i set the disabled value manually to enabled
users are now members of "inactive and enabled" set
to which i applied an mpr that is supposed to disable the user in AD
i dont understand why the mpr is not applying at all, i can't see it anywhere being applied to that user
even if i have the run on policy update checked
confusing...Hitch Bardawil

try to disable then enable the MPR
June 20th, 2011 7:08pm
nothing....
i tried to switch things up to see what happens,
1) i now have a transition rule for user creation: now when users transition into the "active and enabled" set they get created
2) i now have a transition rule for user disable: now when users transition into the "inactive and enabled" set they get disabled
3) i have a transformation workflow triggered by a transition mpr that sets the enabled value to disabled (i use that so that i can set the value to true manually)
now rules 2 and 3 are getting executed at the same time disabling users without my approval
i know this sounds complicated so thanks for your help
