Diagnostic Logging Category for Troubleshooting Outlook/SharePoint Syncing?
Any recommendation on which category of logging I can use to troubleshoot the events occuring between Outlook 2007/2010 and a SharePoint 2007 calendars/lists/libraries/discussions? This is for the Event Throttling pull-down menu under Diagnostic Logging in Operations. This process used to work fine, but appears to have started after installing the last cumulative update (April 26 2011). When connecting the calendar, library, list, or discussion from SP to Outlook, it sets it up correctly in Outlook the first time. But then changes made on either side are not synced. Based on the Logging from Outlook, the following error occurs when trying to sync with a list, library, discussion, or calendar the second time: You do not have permission to view this SharePoint List (Name of List). Contact the SharePoint site administrator. HTTP 302. Since I am the SharePoint Admin, it seems kinda strange I'd receive this error since I do have permission everywhere. This may not be related to the CU, but I would like to see what events SP is logging during this process. And it only appears to be affecting one web application among many, which is another oddity that is causing me grief.

It appears to be caused be a link between Alternate Access Mappings, AAM ordering, IIS, and Outlook sync functionality. A redirection we were using appears to have inadvertently caused this problem for me. Now I just have to find a way to keep the redirection and not impact Outlook syncing. I'll be playing around with AAM/IIS settings this weekend and will post back here when I'm done.

I still don't have an answer for the Logging category, but the issue has been resolved. Review the link above for more info.
