Detection Rules for .exe deployment as application

Hi,

I have to deploy 32 bit exe as applications from SCCM on 32 and 64 bit Machines.

I have created applications and created detection rule as below...i am getting software installation status as Installed  in Software Center on 64 bit machines where all application install to c:\Program Files(x86) but on 32 bit Machines where there is no any folder Program Files (x86) located software installation status is failed in software center but getting installed (seen in Add/remove Programs).

Please suggest what path should i used for the .exe application detection to successfully verify the installation status in Software Center for 32  and 64 bit Machines both..

Once you have done this do a machine policy and evaluation cycle on the client. Wait a moment then do a application deployment evaluation cycle and monitor appenforce.log on the client.

Hi Paul,

While using %ProgramFiles%\ in Windows explorer it always opens the C:\Program Files , if any machine`s application installation directory is C:\Program Files (x86) , than it will detect the Application directory of C:\Program Files (x86)  automatically through %ProgramFiles%\  .. ??

Yes, as explained in the link to the post of Jason, use %ProgramFiles% in combination with This registry key is associated with a 32-bit application on 64-bit systems and you should be fine.
