Desktop PC cannot find the 5 Ghz band on my new router
I just installed the Netgear R7000 router and every device on my network (2 ipads, 1 iphone, 1 Galaxy S4, 1 Sony blu-ray player, 1 Dell laptop, and 1 HP desktop) can see the 5 Ghz band - except my desktop. The desktop only sees the 2.4 Ghz band. My laptop and my desktop both run Windows 7 and my laptop has no trouble finding the 5 Ghz band, but for some reason the desktop cannot find it. I know the range of the 5 Ghz band is shorter, but the desktop is very close to the router, so this should not be a problem. Any idea how I can fix this?

What kind of network card do you have in your desktop? If you cannot see the 5GHz, it's very likely that the network card doesn't support it.
