Design SCCM
Hi all, I have recently start work with SCCM, and I got few doubts about the product. The SCCM is already deployd at my enviornment, with single site we got about 3.000 machines and I need to provide fault-tolerance for the SCCM, today all the features of SCCM are running at this site. We got hyper-v cluster where we could place, but people don´t wat rely on hyper-v cluster. My doubt start here to have a fault-tolerance at the SCCM services link management point do I need to have another site or I only need to create a new site systems and attribute the management point role to the new server, and after that create the NLB for the service? The doubt is if at the new site system will need to have the SCCM installation there also, if I need to create a new site to create the NLB. Thanks in advance Rodrigo Daphanis

For the database you cna use a cluster, for MP and SUP you can use a NLB. You can find more info in this article - http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb680471.aspxKent Agerlund | My blogs: http://blog.coretech.dk/author/kea/ and http://scug.dk/ | Twitter @Agerlund | Linkedin: /kentagerlund

SCCM does not provide any method of true fault tolerence. We replicate our SCCM servers to our DR site. We've tested that and it does work however it's not supported. John Marcum | http://myitforum.com/cs2/blogs/jmarcum/|

Hi, Just one more question, i saw that to implement a MP NLB I don´t need to have SCCM installed on the second sever. My doubt is for example I got to VM Server 1 has the SCCM installed and SUP and other roles, at the second server i will deploy MP and DP, my doubt is if the server stop will stop everything because SCCM is there? What´s the best on this case implement a second SCCM and the second server that will be one of the members of MP? Would be better to have on server working as primary and the second as secondary? Thanks 4 the help! Rodrigo Daphanis
