You need to have reporting services installed on a server and you can deploy it to a folder on the reporting services. You need to use the url for the report server in the project properties to deploy the report.

Rebakah, As vikram said, you need to have reporting services installed and I believe you had (as you mentioned you ran the SSRS report in your machine.) You must have a Sql server machine to do that with Reporting Services configured properly, assigned with a valid URL for running Report Manager and Web Service URL for Report Server. Once, you had both in a Native Sql instance - there are 2 ways to deploy your reports. First is through Report Manager, run your report manager URL (standard is http://servername/Reports/Folder/Pages.aspx , check yours) Upload your reports and configure the connection properties i.e, datasources. Second, is directly from your BIDS solution. Right click your Report server project, click properties. Give the servername where you want to deploy the reports. Also, you can provide the folder name if you want to change the default path. Click Ok making changes. Right-click report (.rdl) and click deploy. Regards, Manoj *Happy to help

The entire configuration of access / security / execution accounts configuration, encryption , decryption , access reporting services webservices is through the reporting services configuration tool, but the access to report RDls is through the report manager which is configured in the report configuration tool. This tool can be opened from 'All programs"->SLQ Server 2008->Configuration Tools -> Reporting Services Configruatin Tool.Happy to help! Thanks. Regards and good Wishes, Deepak.

Rebekah, First of all, check if your local system have SQL server installed or client installed. Incase, you have SQL server installed. You need to configure your reporting services properly. Connect to valid Report server and Assign port. Once configured, pick your Report manager URL and run it. If you are through with you can follow the above mentioned steps.
