Deploying Microsoft Project 2007 standard volume license
Hello,I deployed microsoft project 2007 standard to 6 windows xpmachines at 6:00pm. When I got back to the office on the following morning 9:00am and the Microsoft Project 2007 standard have not successfully push to those xp machines yet.So I check the SCE 2007 console, it shows that the 6 windows xp machines with status"downloaded" the Microsoft Project 2007 standard. Then I launched the task managers on 6 windows xp machines and I saw the "setup.exe" sitting in the task managers. All six windows laptops were laptops and they are sitting in my lab. 1. I ran setup.exe /adminthen I selected "License and user interface"2. I entered my volume license key.3. I selected "basic" where said display level.4. I selected "suppress modal and no cancel"5. I saved project2007.msp in the same directory as the project 2007 setup files.6. I created software package in the SCE 2007.7. I added installation parameter /adminfile project2007.msp 8. I clicked on Create.9. I deployed to the group of 2 windows xp machines.Did I do something wrong? Your help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,Soi Pang

Hello Soi Pang, After you approve a software package, the SCE Server will NOT transfer it to the target machine immediately. Actually, the target machine should detect the SCE Server at regular intervals, which is set at 22 hours by default. For testing, open a command prompt and run wuauclt /detectnow on the target machine. It will detect the SCE Server at once and download the software if possible. After several minutes, the Automatic Update icon will appear in the System Tray. Click it to install the software. After the installation finished, run wuauclt /reportnow on the target machine to report its status to the SCE Server. Then come back to the SCE Server, refresh the Deployment Status report for the software package. It should now show as Installed. Thanks,Yog Li - MSFT

Hi,1) First, select none instead of basic2) Save the msp file in the update catalog2) No need for any parameter since the msp file is in the default catalog (update)This should workYou should test to run this manualy on a client, if it works, add the package to SCEBjrn Axell MVP - Advisec AB http://blog.advisec.com
