Deploying Linux Software Updates through SCCM 2012 R2

Hello..,

We have  to deploy Software Updates on Linux machine from SCCM ,But issues is Software Updates  (.rpm files )contains  dependencies  software , for deploying single software as we don't know exact dependency software we have download whole repository locally from DP on Linux machine then run to installed from  advertisement Ultimately it is wastage of Network bandwidth downloading whole package on Linux machine .

Is there is ways on Linux environment (YUM and Red Hat Package Manager )with SCCM such that no need to download whole repository package on Linux machine  or only required Dependency downloaded automatically form Internet or from SCCM DP.

Thanks

You can only deploy programs to Linux with built-in functions of ConfigMgr 2012. For update deployments you'll need some 3rd party plugin to do the magic for you.

Another way to deploy software updates to a ix machine could be that you deploy a script which runs yum or whatever your favourite package Manager is. That will take care of the dependencies
