Deploy Applications over Direct Access Connection: stuck at Downloading: 0%

I have a test client that I have deployed some applications to via SCCM2012 CU5. These applications have been deployed internally without issue. They sit at Downloading (0% complete) and do not error out.

This machine happens to be connected via DirectAccess 2012 IPHTTPS connection. The DirectAccess Connectivity 2.0 is reporting that connectivity is working. I can browse the SCCM Server Shared Drives without issue. I can ping the SCCM Server and receive it's IPv6 transition address. I have no problem seeing and managing the client via SCCM Console (RDP, Remote Control, Browse Client Admin Shares, etc.).  Does anyone have any direction for me regarding this issue?

Thanks in advance,

Hi,It sounds like a boundary/boundary group issue, have you created a boundary/bioundary group for the IPV6 addresses the clients are using when connected using directAccess?

Verify that you configure application server on direct access and check log to know more details about this issue.

Hi,

You could also check the CAS.log, ContentTransferManager.log and DataTransferService.log to find more information.

LocationServices.log records the client activity for locating management points, software update points, and distribution points.

I Jorgen,

Sorry for the delay. I've been out of town for a Funeral and then caught up in personal matters since then. I did add the IPv6 subnet to the Boundary Groups in SCCM 2012. The reason I don't believe this is the fix is that the Client is receiving policy updates without issue.

I have updates group policy, rebooted the client, cleared the ConfigMgr Client Cache, updated the policies and attempted the installation of applications again to no avail.
Thanks and let me know what I might try next.

Regards,

-Scott

Policy and MP communication have nothing to do with boundaries or boundary groups. Only Content location uses boundaries and boundary groups once the client is assigned.

I have added the SCCM Server to the DA configuration as a Management Server and I seem to be fine managing out.
Here is the Computer Status from SCCM Console (Why would the heartbeat be so old?):

Thanks again for all of your help!

Hi,

The ContentTransferManager.log shows "CCTMJob::UpdateLocations - Received empty location update for CTM Job". You could use Content Library Explorer to check the applications on the DP.

Best Regards,

It could also be a boundary/group issue.

Following the advice of another thread I found with a somewhat similar issue, I ended up removing and then reinstalling the Configuration Manager Client. Once the Client reinstalled, all of the applications installed without any issues!
The issue may have stemmed from Boundary Groups initially, but was not corrected by that change if so, until the client was completely reinstalled.

This is very frustrating that there was no apparent issue with the client and no logs reporting problems with the installation.

Thank you all for your help and support!

I have exact same situation, but these actions did not help in my case;

- Creating IPv6 boundry and adding it to in a group with DP
- Reinstalling CCM client

clientlocation.log is OK
CAS.log: Download request only, ignoring location update
