Deleted secondary site still show up in sender.log with uncompleted jobs
Hi,I deleted several secondary sites and ran preinst.exe with the options /deljob and /delsite but I still see the sites in the sender.log where the primary tries to send to the child sites. I have rerun the /deljob option but with no luck, says 0 jobs deleted, can I remove the jobs manually?

How many levels do you have in your hierarchy? I ask because preinst /delsite is local, and the deletion is not replicated up the hierarcy. Therefore, if you have more than one level above the deleted sites, you need to run preinst /delsite on these as well.

Sender.log or sched.log should tell you which jobs it is trying to process (the name of the .SRS or .SRQ file; you can simply delete those files from the corresponding inbox, but that's not supported). I have no ConfigMgr next to me right now, but it's pretty obvious from the logs what to delete.

Eirik, the sender.log I´m looking at is the child´s direct primary site and but I have also run /deljob and /delsite on the top primary site in the hierarchy.

Torsten, I have found the files so deleting them is not a technical problem for me but I might not want todo anything unsupported.I have to open a case with MS when.

Torsten, now I have the solution.Rerun preinst.exe /delsite <removed child site code> <parent site code>Remove objects from the AD which belong to the old site. Run the following queries in SQL and look for old Site references in the output of the queries. Run these Queries and check output: # Select * from SysResList # Select * from SiteControl # Select * from SiteControlNotification # Select * from Sites # Select * from Sites_Data # Select * from pkgservers # Select * from pkgstatusI only found data that referenced to the old site in Select * from Sites_DataBackup the table before deleting any data using this command: Select * into Sites_Data_Backup from Sites_DataThis will save the data to a new table called Sites_Data_BackupRun this query to delete the reference to the old siteDelete from Sites_Data where siteCode=’XXX’Open schedule.log to see jobs for these sites. Stop the SMS_EXECUTIVE Service on the primary server.Manually delete the jobs that are there if you have any in<Drive>:\Program Files\Microsoft Configuration Manager\inboxes\schedule.box\outboxes\LANStart the SMS service again and check the schedule.log to see that the jobs are gone.

Thank you very much I have been fighting this thing for a long time. I can finally sleep. Now If I could just figure out why my secondary site will not install.
