Deleted publication and subscriptions

Hi,

SQL 2008R2

Trying to set-up replication between two servers in the same domain, I've run into problems with the account not being able to log in at the subscriber and so I decided to delete all entries from the "Local Publications" and "Local Subscribers" folder.

Problem is I still have entries for these in the "Replication Monitor", any idea why?

I want to go ahead and try this again but am concerned that there may be stuff lying around that will effect my new publications.  So, can I refresh the replication environment?

I also set-up a push subscription on the remote server, this appears in the list above which is from the publisher however there appears to be no trace of it on the subscriber.

Really not sure what I have done wrong here.

It gets worse... I just added a new publication which seems to have added two server levels in the "Replication Monitor"

Obviously made a huge mess of this :-( , anyone to remove all replication and start again?

Hi

What version of SQL Server is this for?  I'm assuming that both Servers are on the same version, 2005, 2008 etc?

Hi,

I think its better to clean replication completely and then start from fresh.

I assume you dont have any working replication for these databases yet. Is the distributor beign used by any other working publications?

Hi,

Thanks, I will read your links.

No, nothing is in production for these databases so I would like to start from scratch so hopefully I could start from scratch.  I did create a push subscription which does not appear to be on the subscriber server, i.e. noth in the replication folders (SSMS).  The "Replication Monitor" shows a couple of test subscription on the subscriber.

Could really do with removing all traces of replication at both ends and starting again.

Regards
