Deleted Item from Outlook does not sync to SharePoint
Environment: WSS 3.0 , Client Outlook 2007
Have an issue with one particular user that edits sharepoint Calendars using Outlook. THe problem is that the user can add items via Outlook and they show up on the SP website, but if items are deleted from Outlook they do not delete from the
SP website. I have tested other users and so far it appears this behavior only happens with the one user. It is not a permissions issue as the user clearly has contribute access. The user can delete directly from the website. Logged
on to another computer, the user can delete from Outlook.
I'm assuming this has something to do with the users particular computer and more specificly with Outlook on this machine.
THings I have tried:
Outlook in Safe mode, disabled all add-ins etc., removed all SP lists from Outlook - deleted the SP.pst and then re-added 1 by 1, added Sharepoint lists to a diffenent sync group, turned off Cached Mode.
I'm about to go create a new Outlook profile.
Any other ideas?

Ok, joy... so I go to work on the issue at the users workstation and it decided to start working@! This makes me think it is a server side issue... but I continued to see if I could figure anything out. So I end up back at looking
at the Sharepoint List.PST. I removed the sharepoint lists and the PST data file out of Account Settings in Outlook. Then I go to delete the Sharepoint PST. THen I restart Outlook and add just one sharepoint calendar and it would appear
that the issue is back. Delete in Outlook and it doesnt delete from sharepoint! I suspect the blame lies with the PST file in some way, but I don't know. I'm scratching my head on this one.
Anyway I have deleted the users Outlook profile and created from scratch and readded the sharepoint calendars. I notice the SharePoint List.pst is now called Sharepoint List (2).pst even though I had deleted the origional. With the new profile,
so far everything is working, but I am doubtfull this will stay fixed.
Ideas?

THanks.
I checked the users machine this morning and so far it is still working, but I have not much confidence that the problem is solved do to the intermitent nature of the issue.
What I have done:
Wiped the users Outlook profile and recreated from scratch. Removed all SP Calendars from Outlook and deleted the SharePoint List.PST Deleted all other Outlook related files I could find (extend.dat, etc.) Re-added the Sharepoint calendars to Outlook - Left the default Sharepoint list names - They were origionally renamed by the user and moved to a separate group.
I added/modified/deleted about 30 items this morning within about a 30 min time frame to see if I could break it, but it is still working.
If I delete an item in Outlook, it immediately syncs the deletion with Sharepoint as it should.
Any input/ideas is still appreciated as like I said I have doubts the issue is truly fixed, and even if it is I still would like to track down exactly what causes this.
Thanks

Hello,
It's difficult to pin point the root cause here. We can reopen this thread or open a new one anytime the issue reappears.
