Hi All,I'm experiencing problem in removing user from SharePoint's UserInformation. The scenario is, we found some depreciated usersinformation from /sites/SITE_NAME/_layouts/1033/userinfo.aspx. When wetry to remove these users, we cannot found them in the manage userpage /sites/SITE_NAME/_layouts/1033/user.aspx. Since we need to lookupthe user information in many pages of our portal site. Do you have anyidea on how we can remove it? What is the behaviour of the userinformation list?Thanks.NarayanaThanks & Regards NART

Hi, The userinfo.aspx page is managing Users in a Site Collection (For a portal site). This page lists all users for the site collection, including the users of the top-level website and users of any subsites in the site collection. When you remove a user from this list, the user is removed from all sites and subsites in the site collection. If you delete a user from the siteusrs.aspx page, it will delete them from manage users but not vice versa. Hope it helps.Xue-Mei Chang

Hi. I noticed the same thing on my sharepoint 2003 site. My concern however is about information access. Does the users mentioned in the userinfo.aspx list have access to my documents, even though they are not defined in the user.aspx list? We are in the process of migrating to SP2007. Does it apply also in SP2007? Thanks in advance for your help. Gilles
