Hi Sumit, You would require Base MP at least to start off with SCOM monitoring.. but it is just Base monitoring -Windows Server Base OS System Center Operations Manager 2007 MP http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=9296 For AD, DNS, IIS, SQL, Exchange and so on you need to download & import respective MP's .. since MP requirement differs from environment to environment so one need to have MP based on their requirement.. Hi Sumit It might help if you could clarify your question as it isn't clear exactly what information you require. Varun has given one response which should help. I'll take a slightly different tangent but apologies if I have misunderstood. The scom agent will automatically download management packs that it requires based on the applications installed on the server and the management packs deployed. Object discoveries within SCOM will determine this automatically for you. So there is no "default set of management packs" that an agent will download. You can actually see the management packs that have been downloaded in the Health Service State\Management Packs folder on the agent. Hi Varun - Thanks for the reply. it helped. Hi Graham- To be more precise, My question was: If I install SCOM agent on any one server, what would be the set of MPs that would be applied on to that agent considering that there are no discoveries made for any specific MP. I apologise if this is still confusing :( Thanks & regards, Sumit Agrawal
