Default content approval bug.

Hello!

I've found an interesting bug here, when content approval works incorrectly a bit (in my opinion).

To reproduce it enable "Require Content Approval" in List Versioning Settings and set that only author and users who can approve items can see drafts in a list.

Now, consider following:

1) Author creates an item (status Pending), he can see it

2) Admin approves an item (status Approved). Author can see it

3) Admin rejects an item (status Rejected). Author can't see it anymore!

If you have the same issue please help me to find a way to resolve it.

Best regards,

Anton.

Thank you for the reply!

Your understanding is almost correct, consider please 2 situations below.

"Rejected articles stay in the list or library until the originatoror someone else who has the necessary permissionsdeletes them" - this means, that Author(originator) should always be able to see items created by himself regardless of the approval status.

2 situations:

1) a) Author creates an item

    b) Item gets rejected - Author CAN see it

2) a) Author creates an item

    b) Item gets approved - Author can see it

    c) Item gets rejected - Author CAN NOT see it

Hi Martynenko,

Once the item is approved, its visible to all the users. If the item is rejected, the item is visible to only authors. This is OOTB behavior with this feature.
