Default Pages Library creating errors
Hello, I have a strange issue. I'm not sure when the issue started as we haven't done anything with this server for awhile. I'm using MOSS2007 I believe with SP2 (whichever the lastest is). My issue: I went to change the page layout of my landing page and got a generic error: Exception occurred. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80020009 (DISP_E_EXCEPTION)). There are 3 pages in this library and all of them give this error. I created a new page within the same pages library and got the same error. So obviously, this isn't a page issue it is a library issue. This is the default Pages library so I am highly uncomfortable deleting it (as has been suggested in some blogs out there) and recreating it. This is on a production server as well so I really don't want to do anything risky. Any thoughts or ideas? Thanks in advance. S.

Hi Prasanjit, Thank you for the feedback. Unfortunately, that was not the issue and I have yet to find a solution. I fear the solution is to delete the site collection and recreate it. The bad part is that this issue is at the ROOT of the site collection so we need to make a quick solution so that not everything has to be recreated (will do when we switch servers later this year). But for now, due to time constraints, I performed an ugly workaround. I recreated the pages of the root in another pages library that worked just fine. I then used SharePoint Designer to copy over the pages in the Pages library. Keep in mind, I just needed to change titles and page layouts. I can still edit content fine even if it's in that library, just not the page settings. So I completed my objective in an ugly fashion, but at least it's done. Such strange behavior came from nowhere. I don't like it!
