Dealing with Disposed Machines?
Does anyone know of a way of dealing with disposed machines in SCCM? When a physical machine is disposed of, we would like to mark it in SCCM somehow. This is so that it doesn't come up in the normal list of machines, that use up licenses and need updates etc, but we still want a record of it for audit purposes etc. Any ideas?

The machines get moved into a 'disabled' OU for 6 months then get deleted from AD. We'd like to keep a record of these machines once they are deleted out of AD, but not have them using up licenses or confusing the reporting of updates etc. I'd be interested to know how other people deal with machines that are decommisioned. Do you just leave them in SCCM or remove them and all thier records etc?

We delete them out of SCCM/AD so that data is gone and it shows dead. Some must stay in the machines stay in the AD. But as long as it isn't found in DNS it shouldn't show up in the console since this discovery needs a valid machine.
