Datasheet view redirecting to standard view in SP list?
I have an issue with a user of a sharepoint list. when ever they select edit in datasheet view from the actions menu they get a message in the list window that says "Datasheet view of this list cannot be displayed. Please wait while the page is redirected to Standard view. If your list does not appear in a few moment, open the list in standard view". then promptly redirects them back to the standard view. While I am pretty certain this is a problem with something on the client side as I can edit the list in data sheet view on my system and have logged in through their system with my admin account and still could not on their machine. I have expolored all of the normal stuff for datasheet errors. made sure the active x controls were enabled, checked they had office 2003 pro with the sharepoint features installed, checked the office11 and office12 folders and they both had owssupp.dll .. cleared out temp internet files .. I even had him update from IE6 to IE7 .. still nothing.. Anyone have any experience with this?? anything I can look for on his system? yaddaimean

Dont see how those hotfixes are realted... anyone else? I think it has to do with a setting on the client machine. there are 2 owssupp.dll files one in the office11 and one in the office12 folder.. can I remove or rename te one in office12?yaddaimean

Hello, Please try the workaround of adding following registry key : 1. Start -->Run-->Regedit 2. [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Common\ProductVersion] 3. Add "ProInfo"= dword:00000001 Hope that helps, Regards, Jerry Xing-Bing Yu Moderator Note: The original poster (who didn't see this as an answer) has long gone, so I am using the proposal of a new satisified user as a reason for marking up to answer level and locking the thread.
