Dataset field data in footer
Hi, We are using SSRS 2005 for our reports. My report is like deposit form. Each page of report will have only that deposit details. I am getting the template name used for this transaction as part of dataset. I need to show this template name in footer. For some rows it will be null and for some rows, it will have data. I searched and some one suggested to create report parameter and hide it and then use it in footer. What is happening is first row template name is only getting printed on all pages. If first row of data's template name is null, it is showing null for all pages (from 2nd page) when I preview. I am not sure what is going on. Please some one suggest, how to show field value in footer. Thanks, Spunny

Hi Spunny, If I have not misunderstood, there are at least two fields(template name and deposit details) in your dataset. And now, you have deposit details displayed on the report grouped by tepmlate name. You have also added a page break after each group. The requirement here is to display corresponding template name of deposit details in current page at the footer. If so,as a workaround, I am afraid that you might need to add an additional column template name field to your data region(group by template name, and page break after each group). For elaborating details, let's name the new field textbox as "Group". Then, drag a textbox to footer, structure the expression as:=ReportItems!Group.value. However, I really think it is a necessary feature for Reporting Services. I suggest you to submit a wish at https://connect.microsoft.com/SQLServer/ . And if there are more demands on this, our engineers will take it into consideration. Your feedback is valuable for us to improve our products and increase the level of service provided. We appreciate your understanding. Thanks, LolaPlease remember to mark the replies as answers if they help.
