Data Driven Subscription against SSAS Database in SQL 2008
Hi Can anyone help with creating a Data Driven Subscription in SSRS 2008. Have created report and am now creating the subscription. Has anyone a sample of the command query for the parameter input? I am assuming this is MDX query. I am worried at this not documented it is not supported in 2008? Thanks BiF

Hi BiF, If the data source you have selected is to SSAS database, then you will have to write MDX in the command query and it should work. Can you let me know what is the query that you used and what is the error message that you got?Cheers, Jason P.S. : Please click the 'Mark as Answer' button if a post solves your problem! :)

Hi BiF, Based on my tests, SSRS 2008 R2 can run the MDX query in the Query Requirements box, but SSRS 2008 failed to do this. I also can't find any document about the issue. So, you can submit a feedback at https://connect.microsoft.com/SQLServer/Feedback and hope microsoft enable this in the next service pack release for SSRS 2008. thanks, Jerry

Thanks Guys. Jerry, fortunately I am using SSRS 2008 R2. I will try the parameter code copied from the rdl xml in the hope that is a logical approach.

I am glad I was sitting down, it worked! Looked at implementing this 5 years ago with 2005 .... and all we needed was 64 bit architecture.
