DTS on with SQL 2008 64bit/Windows 2008 64bit
I have installed SQL 2005 backwards compatible components & SQL 2000 DTS Designer Components, moved DLL & RLL files, and modified the PATH as per http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms143755.aspx As the original DTS are on SQL 2000 running on Windows 2000, I have installed SQL 2000 Client Tools (applied Sp4) as per a microsoft kb. I launched Enterprise Manager on my Win 2008 SP1 server and connected to the Win 2000 SQL 2000 instance. I opened a package. I saved it to my SQL 2008 Instance. I launched SSMS 2008, went to Legacy, and tried to open the DTS pacakge. The DTS 2000 Package Designer window did open, but then on top of it, I got the message: SQL Server 2000 DTS Designer components are required to edit DTS packages. Install the special Web download, "SQL Server 2000 DTS Designer Components" to use this feature. I did do that and everything else I could find to do - the window DID open, but not everything seems to have loaded. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated

Thanks Arthur, but I already did that, Method 2, Installed SQL 2000 client. DTS Designer window opens, but is blank (all white) and then tells me that what it just started to open was not installed...

Just re-install it. Besides, there should be more errors, did you examine the Windows Logs?Arthur My Blog
