DPM Reports - Update Period

Hi,

When running the DPM recovery report or any other report it specifies a period but the period doesnt include todays date. Is there a way to force an update in DPM reporting so it shows todays date?

I am guessing there is a scheduled task somewhere which runs at a set time to update these reports? Any help appreciated.

Thank You

Hi,

It is not possible to retrieve a report from today because reporting data is not available until a nightly job runs to collect it.   You can view todays job history to view failed or successful recovery point jobs, or use below powershell script to list latest RP for each data source.

cls
$oDPM = Connect-DPMServer -DPMServerName $env:COMPUTERNAME;
$oPGs = $oDPM.GetProtectionGroups();
foreach ($oPG in $oPGs) {
	$oPG.Name;
	$oDSs = $oPG.GetDatasources()
	foreach ($oDS in $oDSs) {
		$oDS.LatestRecoveryPoint | Out-Null;
	}
	Start-Sleep -Milliseconds 1500;
	foreach ($oDS in $oDSs) {
		$oDS.Name;
		$oDS.LatestRecoveryPoint;
	}
}

So is there anyway to force that nighty job to run on demand? Ideally we want to do a test restore, then run the report and save it as evidence.

The reason why is need to force the job to run on demand is because someone may forget to run the report following day and save it.

Thank You

Hi,

Even if you ran the nightly job manually to update reporting data, the GUI is still not going to give you the option to select today.

I recommend you schedule the report to run daily and have it mailed to you.
