DPM 2012 SP1 restore Sharepoint 2010 from an expired tape

Trying to restore a SharePoint item (a single document in a document library) from an expired tape.

Put the tape in - mark a as free, unmark as free, catalog.

The tape appears as "not belonging to this DPM" but we can see the contents.

Tape does not belong to this DPM even though it was made on this DPM

In the restore tab ( EXTERNAL DPM TAPES) I see the Sharepoint config AND the individual content databases, but not the SharePoint structure for recovery.

Is it correct that I cannot do item level recovery from an expired

Hi,

That is correct, you cannot perform ILR or restore back to original location for any data sources from an expired tapes.  Your only choice is to copy to a network folder. If you believe that is going to be a problem for you in the future, then change the retention period or add a longer term backup goal.

Can we ask for this as an enhancement? It would be very useful.

I have tried extending the tape catalog retention period, but this does not seem to have any effect.
