DPM 2012 SP1 problem creating Protection Group on iSCSI presented DISK

Hello,

We are experiencing problems with DPM when creating group.

Setup: We already had two disks in DPM storage Pool and they were full. Therefore we presented the OS with one iSCSI disk of 24Tb. We added it ok and converted it to Dynamic Disk. Then we added it to the DPM Storage Pool and shows off as ok.

However, when we try to create a protection group the disk goes into "error" and the creation fails with:

Create protection group: ExchDBs failed:
Error 419: DPM could not set security permissions on the replica or recovery point volume that was created.
Error details: The system cannot find the path specified
Recommended action: Review the error details, take appropriate action and retry the operation.

Allocate replica for Exch9DB2aGB failed:
Error 419: DPM could not set security permissions on the replica or recovery point volume that was created.
Error details: The system cannot find the path specified
Recommended action: Review the error details, take appropriate action and retry the operation.

It doesn't give any errors. Even more the logs while being only minutes/seconds old have data only from few hours back.

As seen above the disk is listed ok.

After creating try the disk goes into "error" and shows as the below pics.

Do you have any ideea what this might be?

Hi,

I assume this is a GPT disk ?  Can you manually make a 3TB volume on that disk using Windows disk management or does that also cause the dynamic disks to show error ?   Any event log messages ?    Can you recreate the  that iscsi target to be smaller and se if that works.
