I have a secondary DPM set up protecting a primary DPM with SQL, Hyper-V, and file workloads. On the primary server, the retention is 21 days and this works as expected.
On the secondary, I set the retention to 1 day because this is just DR and so we are willing to lose history in order to save disk space.
My secondary protections always have active recovery points far past 1 day, usually extending to 3-4 days. Is this just a minimum date restriction within DPM? I can go in manually and kill older recovery points sometimes, and other times it tells me it will also destroy all of my recovery points if I do that.
To be clear, old recovery points ARE being cleaned, just not all the way to 1 day.
All primary protections are set to do an Express Full at least once per day, with synchronizations usually every 30 minutes to an hour. Secondary will synchronize between every 2 hours and 6 hours.
