i successfully updated DPM to rollup 1 , but when i try to install roll up 2 i get " Fatal Error" 

i tried reboot the server still same issue.

I ve pasted the log below , is anyone able to point me on the right path to get it updated successfully ?

Hi,

Update Rollups for DPM 2012 R2 are cumulative, in other words, you only have to install the latest. So if your goal is to update to the latsest version of DPM (4.2.1297.0) you can go ahead and directly install Update Rollup 5 and the hotfix for it.

Hey Markus 

ok so i go through the install of RU 5 , and it tells me it was succesful. I reboot the server, then i install the HOTFIX and get : 

DPM update installer has detected that following required prerequisites are missing. Install these and run DPM Update installer again. 

1.A required hotfix KB3021791 is missing. Install it from http://support.microsoft.com/kb/3021791 

so i tried again and install the RU 5, went through ok . and then same issue with the hotfix. 

if i go to ABOUT DPM , the version shows  R2 4.2.1297.0 , is there a way to confirm that RU5 is succesfully patched ? 

Also i keep getting MMC crashes when i go to reporting tab. i tried the workaround to backup SQL DPM database manually and run the script.  (https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/6e8bbabc-089f-42f1-8af1-8715df4a33a8/problem-with-dpm-2012-r2-console-after-install-ru5?forum=dataprotectionmanager)

Same problem trying to install the hotfix. Find a solution?
