DPM 2010 copy backup to an external USB drive

Hello,

I'm new to DPM.

When using DPM to backup servers, is it possible to robocopy the backups (is it called a storage pool?) to an external USB (not eSATA) so that it can be used for an off-site backup and be able to use that external USB to restore the servers with if need to without using firestreamer?

Hi,

Yes, you can use robocopy to copy all the files located on the DPM replica volumes using the following procedure.

1) Open a ADMINISTRATIVE command prompt and run dpmbackup -replicas
2) Run Robocopy to copy all the data under the C:\Program Files\Microsoft DPM\DPM\Volumes\ShadowCopy folder to the USB drive.
