DPM2012 R2 UR7 fails with installation DPMAMService throw error

This is from installation of Detectoid for System Center 2012 R2 - Data Protection Manager Server-all-dataprotectionmanager2012r2-kb3065246_0ade14e6326e183e5724cdc423a871210be40b89. Which was downloaded after the re-release of this update.

The update log shows several attempts to start DPMAMService. I looked in the event log and found several errors like this for MSDPM.

This is running on Windows 2008 R2 storage server with Service Pack 1.

The DPM is running currently with UR4.

Any help in resolving this would be appreciated.

Thanks, Mike

Since I had no feedback I thought I would try Update 6. This installed successfully. So I rebooted and thought I would try Update 7 again. It still fails. The issue is the DPMAMService fails to start with an error in the event log stating:

No set method for property 'Name' in type 'Microsoft.Internal.EnterpriseStorage.Dls.UI.ObjectModel.OMCommon.ProtectableObject'.

If I search on ProtectableObject, I can find references to a FriendlyName property but not Name.

I'm struggling with the fact that I cannot be the only one that has run up against this issue. There must be some schema issue in my installation that others are not experiencing.

Any thoughts?

Thanks, Mike
