We recently migrated to a clustered DHCP server, running on Win 2008R2. Everything seems to be working fine, but the DHCP server log is flooded with "DNS update request failed as the DNS update requests queue limit exceeded" messages. If I restart the DHCP service, it will log succesful and failed DNS updates for a minute or two, then it will go back to flooding the log with the "DNS update request failed as the DNS update requests queue limit exceeded" messages again.

We have changed the DyanicmDNSQueueLength registry key to the highest possible value (65535), and everything else in between, such as 49152 and 32768. But yet the DHCP server log is being flooded with the same message.

Has anyone else experienced the same? I've noticed that the DNS zone corresponding to the AD DS domain is currently allowing nonsecure and secure dynamic updates. Might changing this to only allowing secure updates help?

This DHCP server services almost 10 000 clients.
