DFSR Replication Halted on DC

Hi,

We have a multi-domain forest with root domain and 2 child domains running Windows 2008 R2 domain controllers. All other DC's are Windows 2012 or R2.

We noticed that on 4 of the DC's that are running 2008 R2 (including the 2 DC's on the forest rood domain), DFSR replication is halted. But the fact is we are still using FRS to replicated Sysvol. But we tried fix this error anyway by running below command on one of the affected DC but get the error "Invalid class method"

C:\Windows\system32>wmic /namespace:\\root\microsoftdfs path dfsrVolumeConfig where volumeGuid="194b18e9-5164-11de-802e-806e6f6e6963" call ResumeReplication

ResumeReplication - Invalid class method.

Is this parameter not supported on Windpws 2008 R2?

Advice appreciated.

Thanks

Lasantha

Hello,

Please run the following command to check whether FRS is it replicating using FRS / DFSR.

Repadmin /getglobalstate

If it shows state as ELIMINATED then you have migrated sysvol replication DFSR.

if it is running on DFSR Then, run the below mentioned command on all DCs and share the status:

Wmic /namespace:\\root\mirosoftdfs path dfsrreplicatedfolderinfo get replicationgroupname, replicatedfoldername, state
