DCOM permisison error? What changed? Help....
Greetings all, We have SCCM 2007 and SQL installed on a single 2003 server.Something must have changed, becuase all of a sudden, we are recieving the following error message when trying to connect from the admin console: " The ConfigMgr console could not connect to the ConfigMgr site database. Verify that this computer has network connectivity to the SMS Provider computer and that your user account has Remote Activation permissions on both the ConfigMgr site server and SMS Provider computers. For more information, see "How to Configure DCOM Permissions for Configuration Manager Console Connections" in ConfigMgr Help." What changed? This is a simple environment. Any ideas? Thanks, JAY

Did you ever find a solution to this problem? I am having the same issues on several PCs. One day it works and the next it doesn't. it does seem to be isolated to a particular user on a particular machine. For example, on machine A the end user (who is a Domain Admin) experiences this problem. I can log onto that machine and experience no problems. The same end user from Machine A can goto Machine B that has a different user that is having the same problem and logon and not experience any problems.Driving me nuts!!!

I'm having the same problem...Have checked DCOM permissions and SCCM permissions....Worked perfectly for ages and then we had to do a Site reset and since then no go. I can log on to another machine and it works fine. However, on my main machine it wont connect. Even tried using domain admin account and still no go.

Has anyone else found this out? I have 3 people with the same problem and one guy setup a different laptop and it worked fine as killragtshirts had the same thing, but on their same computers, nothing is working. What's odd is that other people in the same area can use the console.I should mention, when I was logged into their computer, I got the access denied as well.Where is this smsadminui.log?Update: I found the SMSAdminUI.log in Program files.
