Customizing SharePoint 2013 Workflow platform task form in InfoPath

Hello,

I've developed an approval workflow in SharePoint Designer 2013 using SharePoint 2013 Workflow platform type. On completion of the workflow, I've found out that new 'Start task process' approval action doesn't create task form like in 2010. Therefore, it redirects to workflow task list display form to approve or reject the task. Also, you cannot customize the newly workflow task form in InfoPath 2013 if your default content type is 'Workflow Task (SharePoint 2013)'. Thus, it seems like I've to develop a custom task form in Visual Studio.

Is this really a limitation made up by Microsoft or i'm wrong at any stage? What are the workarounds?

Thanks!

Hi Sohaib,

In SharePoint 2013 Designer workflows, workflow form has been changed from InfoPath form to ASPX form.

In this article, you can see the paragraph below:

For the workflow based on SharePoint Designer 2013 and Microsoft Azure Workflow, SharePoint Designer creates ASPX forms instead of InfoPath forms that were created by SharePoint 2010 workflows. If you want to customize the form, you can click it from the forms slab in workflow summary page to show a generic ASPX page editor.

You can create custom ASP.NET task form in Visual Studio for 2013 workflows.
