Custom attribute doesn't show in Synchronization Rules drop down menu
I added a couple of custom attributes to the MV and to the FIM schema. I see the attributes under MA properties and I can setup Import and Export flows directly in the MA (I added them to the FIM MA for example, I could also setup MA flows for AD or SQL). However, I do not see the attributes listed as options in the drop down menu for Synchronization Rules in the portal. I swear I setup something similar on a different system a couple weeks ago and didn't have any issues. I just added an attribute to the person object in MV Designer, added it to FIM via Schema Management, bound the attributes to the user object, refreshed schemas, and setup my Synchronization Rules (the attributes appeared automatically). Any ideas? What step did I miss?

Do you have any errors in the eventlog on the FIM Synchronization Service server? When the configuration is changed in sync it will be pushed by the FIM MA to FIM Service. If the FIM MA receives an error it will be logged in the event log. You can force a configuration push by re-entering the password on the FIM MA. /AndreasThis posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights. There is an event in the event log. I didn't notice the entry before posting, but CarolW posted the exact same issue back in November. The solution at the time was to rebuild FIM from scratch (which isn't very comforting). Is there another way to address this issue? I now have the errors on two separate FIM servers. Just for fun, I setup import and export flows for the new attribute directly in the MAs and it works fine. http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en/ilm2/thread/cf991f2f-05ce-4b25-b0ed-86c3e884c234 Log Name: Application Source: FIMSynchronizationService Date: 5/6/2010 3:06:06 PM Event ID: 6331 Task Category: MA Extension Level: Error Keywords: Classic User: N/A Computer: FIMT1.domain.com Description: A update on the configuration of a MA or MV failed to replicate to a target connector directory that is capable of storing MA/MV configurations.
