Custom Styles in Report Builder 2.0 Table or Matrix Wizard
Report Builder 2.0 (April 2009), SSRS 2008, SQL 2008 SP1 + CU2 STEPS: Open report builder, when it opens it's open to a default report template of some sort with a data region placeholder with "CLICK TO ADD DATA" written on it, and two icons, TABLE OR MATRIX and CHART. Click on TABLE OR MATRIX to initiate the "New Table or Matrix" wizard Go through the wizard until you get to the "CHOOSE A STYLE" page MY QUESTIONS: First of all, where is that initial template located soa person can change the items on it? On step 3 above, you'll be sitting at a page with a list of styles you can choose(Slate, Mahogany, etc.) From where is that list generated? How can I get my own style in that list? I've modified the "StyleTemplates.xml" files located in C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\Common7\IDE\PrivateAssemblies\Business Intelligence Wizards\Reports\StylesandC:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\Common7\IDE\PrivateAssemblies\Business Intelligence Wizards\Reports\Styles\enBut those only apply to the new report wizard in BIDS, not to the table/matrix wizard in Report Builder 2.0. Unfortunately, no. The lack of answers here and on another forum was deafening.Number2 - (John Nelson)Microsoft MVP (2009) - System Center Configuration Managerhttp://number2blog.com

The silence is still deafening. As an enterprise tool, you'd think this thing had someway to enforce - or at least encourage - the use of enterprise approved graphical standards. This seems to be a major lack in the product. Any one know if this gets better under report builder 3.0?Michael Shewmaker

Has anyone figured out how to do this? Specifically for Report Builder 3.0.

I think the reason that these posts have not been responded to is there there isn't an answer beyond the fact that Report Builder (2.0 and 3.0) do not support a report template paradigm. By design, Report Builder is a simple tool that doesn't have a template library.
