Custom Performance counter
Hi I have a application on one server that created a new Preformance counter on the server. Now I want to create a Performance view in Ops console to view this counter. I am able to create performance view in Ops manager for the standard Windows performance counters but I am not sure how to get this costum performance counter into Opsmgr. What kind of a rule/monitor do I need til do this? Svavar P.S. I have another question here regarding Opsmgr console and scripting - If you are really smart http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/operationsmanagerauthoring/thread/3df7b349-b139-4547-91cd-da1460c6b635/#3df7b349-b139-4547-91cd-da1460c6b635

Hello Svavar, You can create a Windows Performance Collection Rule for that Counter and use it in your Performance View, it will show you data based on the grooming settings for the operations database, also you can run Performance Reports based on that counter. How to Create a Windows Performance Collection Rule in Operations Manager 2007 Use the following procedures to create a Windows performance collection rule in Operations Manager 2007. The data collected by the rule will display in performance views for the targeted objects. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb381248.aspx Hope this can help. Regards, Mazen Ahmed
