Custom Monitor
I have an application which has a single service running on 2 nodes. As long as the service is running on at least one of these nodes the application will function. What is the best way to create a monitor for this? I'm a bit confused as to if I should be
creating an aggregate or dependency rollup monitor for this.

Hi
You can do this using a distributed application:

Thanks for the links
Any way to do it outside of a distributed app? For example what if I wanted to create a custom management pack for this application.
I have already configured a DA for this and the health roll up does work like those articles suggest.
Just trying to figure out different ways of doing things ie. creating a custom monitor/management pack

not really, the custom service monitor and the DA together make the custom management pack.
The only other way without DA i can think of is when those 2 computers are a cluster and you target your monitor to the cluster instead of the individual nodes... but i doubt that's the case here. Rob Korving
