I am trying to create a new list definition in VS 2013. I add new Item, select List and custom list (Default option).

when i check the Type in the element file, it shows 100, ideally it should be more than 10000. Is there any setting in VS to configure this.

Am i missing anything. Thanks.

Typically if you created the list definition (Default CustomList) through Visual Studio, then check the List Definition's Element.xml file in that ListTemplate Type must be 10000 and ListInstance's Element.xml must be referenced automatically "TemplateType" equal to 10000.
