Custom List 'Mulitple Lines of Text' field not copying to second list correctly
I have created a form with some custom list fields that are Multiple Lines of text, with Append Changes on. Field is not required. I have created a workflow which copies 'current item' (entire list) to a new list. When this copy takes place, I see View Entries as a link. This is OK, but when I click on View Entries, only the last entry is visible. there appears to be no other entries in the list, although the original clearly has 2-5 entries by different people. Is this data hiding, or gone?

As you noted, you have a workflow that COPIES the entire item to a new list. I believe the NEW list is probably a direct duplicate of the ORIGINAL list. With that being the case, when the copy takes place, you will essentially replace the whole thing and you won't see updates taking place. In essence you are overwriting the old entries with the new. You can test this by enabling Version History on the NEW list. You should see the values of the older itterations in the version history. The way to resolve it is to copy the fields you need to update individually and ensure that the ID field is NOT being copied. You also want to ensure that you're doing an INSERT instead of an UPDATE on the NEW list. I trust that answers your question... Thanks C http://www.cjvandyk.com/blog

Not exactly... I have versioning enabled on both lists. When a new list item is marked 'approved' by the moderator, I have a workflow which copies that list item to a separate list called ARCHIVE. Then the workflow deletes the original list item from the original list. The item is not approved until all entries and edits have been made, then after the 'copy' is done, the list item is archived and no longer updated. One field is a multiple line text field, and has mulitple entries. The multiple entries (or versions) are not showing up, on the copy, just the most recent entry shows up. The copy only takes place once. I somewhat understand your answer - you can copy list item fields instead, however I get the same result. I tried CREATE list item, don't see an insert option. Still no dice. The new list item in the second list is showing all data except we get the dreaded 'view entries' link, with only one of the many text entries visible to the users.
