Critical Error while Loading/Postback InfoPath 2010 form in SharePoint 2010 Server

Hi,

I have a Administrator approval InfoPath 2010 Form(with Code). The form works perfectly fine on a server on one particular port. I created a new web application on a different port  But when I try to open or submit the form I get the following error:

"

A Microsoft SharePoint Server State Service error occurred while processing your request. For more information, contact your server farm administrator.

Click Start Over to load a new copy of the form. If this error persists, contact the support team for the Web site.

Click Close to exit this message.

Unable to understand the error. I checked the State Service status and it is running for the new web application.

Please help. Thank in advance.

Hi All,

Sorry for not replying as not here for quiete some time. Resolution in my case was project specific. I was referring an entry in the InfoPath form code and the code was unable to fine the value from web.config, hence it was throwing an error.

In general this error  might occur due to following reasons:

  1. Data Submit connection is incorrect if error occurs on Submit form.
  2. Some of the xpath used in the code is incorrect which is used in get or set code.
  3. You have a connection for some Drop Down which is trying to access some list in SharePoint context and unable to do so.

Let me know if you face the issue persists.

Same problem: It was caused by a Data Connection used to populate a dropdown list.

Hello All,

Can someone please guide me on one Infopath related issue, details are below.

I am unable to open infopath form and getting error message "Critical Error".

I have taken some lookups from another form library. It happens when source list contains more that 100 items.

Please help, thanks in advance!
