Creating a secondary site via SCCM Console
Via the CCM console, I created a new Secondary Site. It now appears in the console tree as Pending. Well, after some searching it looks like I have the following coming up in my sender.log on my primary server: FQDN for server SECONDARYSERVERNAME is SECONDARYSERVERNAME.corp.company.com SMS_LAN_SENDER 4/15/2008 10:12:56 AM 6372 (0x18E4)There is no existing connection, Win32 error = 5 SMS_LAN_SENDER 4/15/2008 10:12:57 AM 6372 (0x18E4)There is no existing connection, Win32 error = 5 SMS_LAN_SENDER 4/15/2008 10:12:57 AM 6372 (0x18E4)Error during connection to \\SECONDARYSERVERNAME.corp.company.com\D$ (5). EDIT: Upon further inspection, it appears that Error 5 is access denied. I'm not sure what I'm missing though; is there some sort of prep I'm supposed to do on the target secondary server before I run the wizard in the SCCM console?

Your primary site server computer account needs to be a member of the local adminsitrators group on the secondary site server.

If you install via the console, the installation files are pushed to the secondary site. If you don't specify an account that has write permissions on the root of the secondary site, then the parent's machine account will need to be. Local secondary site installs don't require this and will set the permissions on the secondary site for successful site to site communications.

I started on another seconday server last night and all was going well until the setup started doing it's prereq check and realized that I didn't have the XML parser installed on the target server. It attempted to install it and failed (due to the server not having an updated version of windows installer). I manually updated windows installer and installed the XML parser to the target server. How do I resume the installation of the secondary CCM site?

If setup was stopped at the prereq checker page then setup did not actually start installing anything. Just re-run setup.

I ran the setup via the CCM Console on the parent server and pushed the files via the wizard. So the secondary site is there in my Console with a status of pending. It's my understanding that there aren't any setup files on the targeted server until they're pushed via the remote installation, correct?
