Hello all, This being my first post, I should start off saying I am new to sharepoint. I am trying to make a list and setup a work flow, and this being my first run at it, I need to make the first column in my list shorter. It is too long.. The Column is named title and for example, if it is titled "Sales Document" The column is still very long. I looked and I cannot figure out how to change this without using SP designer..as I am not. I am using the web interface to do this. Anyone care to help?

Got the vague impression you are talking about the column being "too big" as in it's very wide and takes the entire horizontal space. If your list does not have any other columns (it should have Title, by default), then with only 1 or 2 columns they are going to take up the entire width. You can change the width somewhat by editing the page's layout and switch to a 2 (or 3-column) layout. So that the list doesn't occupy the whole space. Alternatively, customize the view for the current list and change which columns you want to show - you might want to show more columns. jliu - johnliu.net - www.ssw.com.au
