Creating a Collaboration Portal using a Host Header Site Collection
Trying to specify what I understand is the correct sitetemplate parameter for a Collaboration Portal (SPSPORTAL#0) when creating a host header site collection and it doesn't appear to want to take. When I execute the following command:
stsadm -o createsite -url https://site.domain.com -hhurl https://portal.domain.com -ownerlogon domain\user -owneremail user@domain.com -sitetemplate SPSPORTAL#0 -title "Home"
I get the following error:
Provisioning did not succeed. Details: The site template was not provisioned successfully. Delete this site collection in Central Administration, and then create a new site collection. OriginalException: This page has encountered a critical error. Contact
your system administrator if this problem persists.
I can run this command on non-host header site collections just fine as well as use the above command specifying the BLANKINTERNET#0 site template, so I know it's not an issue with the publishing feature or anything.
Incidentally, I have other host header site collections running collaboration portals that have been backed up and restored from standard path-based site collections functioning successfully. Not sure what the problem is.
