Creating SQL agent job view
I got it. Generating Alert has to be enabled in the SQL Server (2005/2008) agent job last run state monitors. Seeing the job states and getting the alerts are two different things. Thanks, Ed

Graham, I enabled the discovery of the SQL Agent jobs. I can see the jobs in SQL Agent State view but not in the view I tried to create. Can you reproduce? What did I do wrong? Thanks. Ed

Hello, I created an alert view in the SCOM2007R2 console. I selected "SQL Agent Job" under "Show data related to:", and "ALL" under "Show data contained in specific group:". But the view only showed 2 of the 15 sql agent job alerts in my test env and showed nothing in my production env even though there're many job alerts. What's wrong here? Any help is apppreciated. Hi Discovery and monitoring of SQL Agent jobs is disabled by default - have you enabled the discovery for SQL 2000, SQL 2005 and SQL 2008? http://blogs.technet.com/b/jimmyharper/archive/2009/06/05/sql-agent-job-discovery-not-working.aspx When you import the SQL MP, you get a state view for SQL agent job. After enabling the discoveries, do you see all the agent jobs in the SQL agent job view? Cheers GrahamView OpsMgr tips and tricks at http://systemcentersolutions.wordpress.com/
