Create a replication farm in MOSS 2007
Hi,
We are running MOSS 2007 SP1 (v 12.0.0.6219) 6 server farm with 2 WFE, 1 index server, 1 app server, and 2 sql server 2005 sp2 dbs in cluster. How can I create a separate farm which is an exact replica of my parent farm.
The plan is to create a similar environment as our production so that we can do various testing like upgrading to SP2, change admin password, etc. Considering I am using a single server or 2 servers (1 Sharepoint and 1 database), how can I achieve this?
I've heard that we can take a backup of Windows AD and create a new one in isolated environment, can a similar thing be done on SharePoint farm. I'm not sure how to do this but if I somehow take a complete backup (close to 1.3 TB data) from Central
Admin will it be possible to restore it to a new farm (if I provide a db with same name as production).
Regards,
Manoj

Hi,
You can backup and restore an entire SharePoint farm but you still need to configure the topology for the new farm.
