Create a Custom Field Type using Calculated Column

Hi Guyz,

We are using SharePoint 2013 and We have a requirement to Create a Field which needs to show (Version number - 1). example if the version of the document is 10 it should show 9. thought of creating a Custom field which derived from Calculated Field. please help me on this. Thank you!!!!

Hi Mohamed,

To achieve this, we can use event handler to update the field, instead of creating the custom field.

Yes agreed. But the requirement is to create a new custom Field type.

Hi,

The following steps for your reference:

1. Enable the version in the document library.

2. Modify the list view, select the "Version" column.

3. Create a Calculated Column, the formula is "=Version-1".
