Create Task and assign to Multiple Users with an Email notification sent to each assigned User

I thought this would be fairly simple to do with SharePoint 2010, however a "little" investigation into the challenge appears otherwise.

All I want to do is assign a task to multiple users and then an email notification gets sent to each assigned user.  Basically mirror exactly the same functionality as a task, when a single user assigned, would perform.

USE CASE:

Create new Task of "Update the document"

Assign Task to User 1, User 2, and User 3

Email gets sent to User 1, User 2, and User 3 notifying them of a the Task assignment

Seems REALLY simple...but...I need some HELP.  THANKS!!!!
