Hi Guys, I have create list template using out-of-box. And I moved it to another server and created a list using that template. I was observe that list is created with different GUID. How to either create a list template without changing list GUID or How can I move the same list to another server.

Hi Naresh, Go to List Settings > Permissions and Management > Save list as template and save that list as template with / without list contents It will be saves in list templates with.stp extension Download that file and upload to the list template gallery on destination site and after that when you go to create list you will get option to create a new list from the same list template from source site. Hi Pratik, He has already done this but the problem is, he wanted to have some GUID while creating the new list from list template. Hi Naresh, Actually there is no solution for your issue. Whenever you create new list, SP will treat it as new content and generate a GUID for the list and save into content database. You can not have same GUID for two list. Hope this will help Cheers, Hemendra-MCTS "Yesterday is just a memory,Tomorrow we may never see"

I think Hemendra is right but you can try the following. I never tried it but probably worth it. Take a stsadm export of the source site Restore it as a subsite of the destination site Using content and structure, move the list to the destination site Delete the subsite If you try this, let me know how it goes. Thanks, Dip

Hi Naresh.v82, Here is link for Import / Export through STSADM. I don't know whether it will solve your problem or not. http://farhanfaiz.wordpress.com/2008/02/07/mossback-up-and-restore-site-collection-sites-using-stsadm-utility-export-import/ Please try this and let us know if it worksCheers, Hemendra-MCTS "Yesterday is just a memory,Tomorrow we may never see"
