Just wanted to know whether there is any update on the support of adding RestFul or SOAP service calls as datasource , to a Data View Webpart? As per this link https://community.office365.com/en-us/f/148/p/21629/309678 its not supported but that was couple of years of ago.

Please try to use SOAP Servive Connection and REST Service Connection in SharePoint Designer 2013.
