That sounds like it might be a question better suited for the SQL Server forums, but in any case, I did come across this KB article that might be of use to you: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/822747I would also check what level service pack your SQL server is running and update to the latest service pack, if possible.

This may be related to SharePoint as it would appear the SharedServices database has at least one table that is susceptible to the problem - I have an identical issue in the SharedServices DB of an old box on a client site running MOSS 2007 on SQL Server 2000 SP3.
