Copying rdl files from one reporting server to the other
Hi I am looking for the best way to deploy reports (rdl files) from my development server to the production server. There are about 50 reports that reference each other through subreports. Am guessing there should be a way to deploy all the reports at once without having to download them individually Any help or suggestion would be greatly appreciated bidev1

1: You can change the TargetServerURL to Production and Datasource to Production Datasource in the Project properties and select all Reports and right click and select Deploy it will to production server from MSBI Visual Studio itself 2: You can use Rs.exe utility by generating the RSS file for each rdl http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa179659(v=SQL.80).aspx http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/forums/en-us/sqlreportingservices/thread/aeb7dbe5-3796-4123-886c-d520b3e62d3e. Below link will provide the Utility to generate the RSS file for each rdl file. http://www.sqldbatips.com/showarticle.asp?ID=62Nanda

I have recommended RSScripter for years. It does a great job of migrating not on the reports but the folders, users, datasources and everything else in the catalog. It's a free download. http://www.sqldbatips.com/showarticle.asp?ID=62 hth__________________________________________________________________ William Vaughn Mentor, Consultant, Trainer, MVP http://betav.com http://betav.com/blog/billva http://www.hitchhikerguides.net Hitchhikers Guide to Visual Studio and SQL Server (7th Edition) Please click the Mark as Answer button if a post solves your problem!
